I’m happy to share my new EP, Always.
That’s 12 brand new songs for you in a short period of time, if you include the latest album that I have released recently.
Every release represents a different moment in my journey as a musician and songwriter, and Always is another chapter in that story.
This EP brings together a collection of songs that reflect different emotions, thoughts, experiences, and perspectives.
Some songs may feel familiar and intimate, while others might take you somewhere completely different.
Together, they form a small but meaningful snapshot of where I am creatively right now.
Why “Always”?
The word Always can mean many different things.
It can represent permanence, loyalty, memories, promises, love, loss, or simply something that continues despite everything changing around it.
That’s part of what I like about the title.
I don’t want to tell every listener exactly what they should feel when they hear these songs.
Music is personal, and everyone brings their own experiences to it.
A song that means one thing to me might mean something completely different to someone else.
And that’s a beautiful part of songwriting.
Another Chapter in My Music
I’ve been continuously writing and recording new material, and Always is part of that ongoing creative process.
Rather than seeing each release as an isolated project, I see my music as a collection of chapters.
Some chapters are darker.
Some are hopeful.
Some are angry.
Some are reflective.
Some are about people and relationships, while others are about experiences, questions, memories, and the world around me.
Always belongs to that larger journey.
It represents another point along the road and another collection of ideas that I wanted to turn into music rather than simply leave as thoughts.
From an Idea to a Finished Release
Every song begins somewhere.
Sometimes it’s a lyric.
Sometimes it’s a melody.
Sometimes it’s a particular sound or chord progression.
Sometimes it’s simply an emotion that needs somewhere to go.
From there, the songwriting process begins.
Ideas are developed, changed, recorded, rewritten, arranged, mixed, and eventually turned into finished recordings.
As someone who works with audio, I also enjoy the technical side of that process.
Recording and production aren’t simply technical exercises to me, they are part of how the character of a song is created.
The challenge is finding the balance between the original idea and the finished production.
The technology should serve the music.
The production should serve the song.
And ultimately, the song should communicate something to the listener.
Music Is a Continuous Journey
One thing I’ve learned through making music is that there is rarely a true finishing point.
You finish one song and immediately have an idea for another.
You finish an EP and start thinking about the next EP or album.
You hear something differently after a few months and suddenly want to approach your next recording in another way.
That’s part of the reason I continue creating.
There is always another song to write.
Another idea to explore.
Another sound to discover.
Another story to tell.
Always is therefore not an ending.
It’s another beginning.
